FSRA license renewals: “Longer than normal wait times”

  • corporate renewals are delayed
  • renew as soon as possible, up to 60 days, as it can take several weeks to process
  • new proof of CE at license renewal in Ontario
  • make sure your CE is complete before renewal, accounting for renewal delays

Apexa Annual attestation: Compliance documents

  • Compliance documents may need updating – give yourself some time
  • attestation includes E&O, License, bankruptcy, legal/disciplinary, and NBS (Needs Based Sales) docs (found here)
  • up to date AML (found here) and Privacy program (found here)

Title Protection for Planner and Advisor

  • there are crediting bodies that can provide brokers with the title Planner or Advisor
  • you cannot use “Planner” or “Advisor” in any configuration of your title otherwise

Retiring? Leaving the Business? Remember the regulator
