As you know, Advocis supports new Advisors through modified membership rates for the first four years of practice.  I’m pleased to announce that in light of the above program, Advisors currently in their fourth year of practice, who would normally begin paying the full membership rate in 2015, will receive a 50% membership discount on their 2015 and 2016 renewal.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in reaching out to your advisors and managers with this special offer to support and encourage membership in Advocis – the largest organization of professional financial advisors in Canada.  This is an excellent opportunity to join.  For those advisors who are already members, we encourage all members to help their colleagues understand the value and importance of belonging to their professional association.

It is critically important to belong to a professional association that looks out for the best interests of Advisors and their clients while providing connectivity to other professionals in our industry.  Right now Advocis is at the forefront with regulators and industry decision makers arguing to protect the rights of all Financial Advisors as professionals on hundreds of issues.  The most striking example of this is the recent consultations by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) regarding mutual fund fees and the banning of embedded commissions.  While the review is currently limited to mutual fund trailers and DSC fees, there is no structural difference with life insurance commissions, which eventually would be banned if regulators are successful on the mutual fund side of the business.

Advocis advocates for professionalism and consumer protection and is the definitive voice of the financial advisory profession in Canada.  Please assist us in making this voice stronger.
