Final Budget Legislation Governing 10-8 and LIA Policies
On October 18, 2013, the Minister of Finance tabled a Notice of Ways and Means Motion to implement the remaining measures from Budget 2013, including final legislation and explanatory notes relating to 10-8 and LIA policies. This legislation is now included in Bill C-4, which received first reading in the House of Commons on October 22. It is expected that this legislation will be enacted before the end of the year.
There have been a number of changes to the final legislation resulting from the work that Advocis’s sister organization, CALU, and the CLHIA have done in this area. CALU has prepared an in-depth summary of those changes, which we are pleased to provide to our members.
