DocuSign® is the only approved e-signature option for Manulife
With the increase of digital adoption in our new landscape, e-signature capability has been invaluable for keeping both inforce and new business moving efficiently for advisors and their clients.
While many of our tools and forms have embedded e-signature functionality using DocuSign®, there are cases where new business and inforce requirements fall outside of our integrated e-signature processes. We’ve increasingly seen advisors submit e-signatures using vendors other than DocuSign® for these requirements and we want to clarify that we cannot accept these as in-good-order.

With an in-depth understanding of our processes and requirements, this partnership has enabled DocuSign® to tailor their support to our unique needs so that we can offer the highest level of client privacy and information protection possible. Our tools and forms have been built specifically for the DocuSign® platform to ensure a seamless and timely customer experience without any manual intervention – a significant benefit to the digital way of doing business. In addition, DocuSign’s form validation rules ensure forms are completed in good order, eliminating the need for back and forth communications to gather additional or missing information.
Obtaining a DocuSign® subscription for personal use
We understand the growing need to have the ability to collect electronic signatures where it’s not built into our forms. For that reason, we encourage advisors to consider purchasing a personal DocuSign® plan. Please note that they must purchase the Business Pro plan which provides the Certificate of Completion – a Manulife requirement for in-good-order submissions.
