We made it. Winter is finished. Not that it was a particularly bad winter, it’s just nice to be done. Now it’s onto warm temperatures, sunny skies and patio beers! Oh, and I’ve also got a few new device recommendations but none of them are as exciting as patio beers. Not much is, actually. Hmm… Come to think of it, I should have written this article from a patio. Lesson learned. Next time I’ll make better choices.

If you can believe it, I’m actually recommending a second place to purchase computers from. It’s Dell. I’ve bought 3 computers from Dell recently and I’ve very happy with them. No longer does Dell put a bunch of crapware on their machines. These things are great. Navigating their site, however, is not so great. There’s way too many options. But that’s why I’m here.

Mid-Range Laptops

  • Dell Inspiron 13 – $499
13.3 in screen, Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 3.40 lbs
  • Dell Inspiron 15 – $699
15.6 in screen, AMD A12-9700P, 12 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 5.14 lbs

High-End Laptops

  • Dell Inspiron i7559 – $999

  • Dell XPS 13 – $1,399
13.3 in screen, Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD, 2.90 lbs
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 4 – $1,519 (Includes keyboard cover)
12.3 inch screen, Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, 2.37 lbs

Desktops

  • Dell OptiPlex 3050 – $759 and up
Intel Core i3, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard drive
This doesn’t come with a monitor so don’t forget to grab one if you need it
