Canada’s new anti-spam legislation will better protect Canadians while ensuring that businesses can continue to compete in the global marketplace. CASL establishes rules for the sending of commercial electronic messages (CEMs) that will take effect on July 1st, 2014 and applies to you if you send an electronic message for commercial purposes to your clients. Business to business CEMS are exempted from CASL.
